Story
Every autumn Welsh Marine Life Rescue rescue numerous seal pups from across the West Wales coastline.
I am a member of Cwmtydu seal watch in Ceredigion, and also volunteer for Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre. We have a fair sized seal population in Ceredigion, and several of us keep a look out for young pups that are unwell, undernourished or orphaned, either because of human interference or harsh weather conditions.
Many of our pups go down to Terry at Welsh Marine Life Rescue. Here they are fed and monitored, whilst a decision is made about ongoing medical care and/or release back to the sea. Many young pups would not have survived but for their expert interventions.
