Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you know, I lost my dear mum Christine Chester in August 2023. She was beautifully cared for by the hospice in her final days and I cannot thank them enough for their care and love. An opportunity has arisen for me to join my colleague Emma Dengate as she celebrates 20 years working for the Friends of Wisdom Hospice Charity by doing a 289ft abseil off the iconic Lloyds of London building in London’s financial district.

Also built in the 80’s and one of the most recognisable pieces of architecture, the building was built as the headquarters of Lloyd's of London, one of the world's largest insurance firms.

The internationally renowned Lloyd's building was designed by the architect Richard Rogers and took eight years to build. Also just like the hospice it was opened by Her Majesty The Queen in 1986.

I’d be grateful if you’d help me reach my target in memory of my mum, in support of the wonderful hospice that I help to run.
