Over my 18 years of swimming I have made lifelong friends and memories. Gliding through the water provides an escape from stressful university work and looming deadlines, while creating time with my friends that I may struggle to meet with otherwise.

The skills you develop, the confidence you build and the joys you feel are universal. However, access to swimming in the UK is not universal.
