Rose's fundraiser for Lingen Davies Cancer Fund

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 · Start fundraising for this event
In 2025, I’ll be running the London Marathon in honour of my incredible mum, Julie, who is currently receiving treatment for ovarian cancer.
My sister Daisy was originally set to run the marathon in 2024, however she had to defer her place at the last minute due to injury. I’ll be stepping in to take her place in 2025, and hope to build on the amazing £6000 she has already raised for this incredible cause. A special thank you also goes out to West Pennine Trucks who will be sponsoring me for my run!
Cancer doesn't discriminate, and it not only affects individuals but entire families. The Lingen Davies Cancer Fund has been a beacon of hope and support for countless people in our community. Lingen Davies helps to improve the lives of those impacted by cancer in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid-Wales, supporting those in the local area to recognise the signs and symptoms of cancer early, providing essential treatment and services and above all helping everyone to live life well - before, during and after cancer.
Julie is more than just my mum; she's a beloved teacher, a cherished friend, and a role model for many. Her diagnosis of ovarian cancer has been a challenging chapter for our family, but her strength and determination have shone through. This isn’t the first time mum has had to fight cancer. She’s previously battled (and beaten!) breast cancer and now, as she faces ovarian cancer, she has shown the same incredible strength. She continues to inspire all of us with her courage and resilience.
This marathon is not just about my family; it's about all of us coming together to make a difference. By supporting our fundraising efforts, you're not only helping me cross that marathon finish line, but you're also contributing to the fight against cancer. Your generosity will have a meaningful impact, not just on mum's battle but on the lives of many others.
Thank you for being a part of our journey, and for supporting me as I run to make a difference for my mum and for all those affected by cancer.
