Story
This year I'm swimming for Team Domenica to help young people with learning disabilities find paid employment and reach their full potential.
Swimming is very much not my thing - but I am doing this to raise much needed funds to support the work that we do at Team Domenica. Please be generous with your donations. I will be doing my best Granny breast stroke, which will probably take me all day ... but i will do it!
I deliberately haven't set a target as I want to reach a breathtaking amount of money!
Just 5.1% of people with learning disabilities are in work in England. You can help me to change that statistic, and support young people like Bradley to achieve their ambitions, by donating to my swim challenge today.
Team Domenica is a charity based in Brighton & Hove that supports young people with learning disabilities to build the skills, confidence and independence they need to find paid work. What they are doing is working - 84% of their candidates progressing into employment through their programmes.
"My experiences helped me get my job at the Grand.... It was good [working with my job coach]. She helped me to do the saucers and cups and a few weeks later, she stepped back a bit and let me be independent... My hope in the future is to be a barman working all over the word."
