Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 7th May 2023, Rory Carlin died suddenly, leaving his family and friends heartbroken.

Rory, a member of Strabane Athletic football team, was described as a ‘skilled sportsman’ and a genuine, polite and lovable lad.’ He worked as a scaffolder with his brother Ryan. He loved his style and always liked to look good when he went out socialising at the weekends with his friends. He was quiet natured but always enjoyed the craic with his family and friends. He had just applied for the Irish army, a career he always wanted. He had his whole life ahead of him and that is why his passing is so tragic.

In memory of Rory, the Carlin and Casey family along with friends have decided to run the Belfast marathon 2024. They hope to raise much needed funds for the koram centre in strabane. The money raised will provide education and outreach services for local mental health and drug addiction services in our town. The family will take comfort knowing that  money raised by Rory’s Memorial Fund will enable the Koram Centre to direct help where it is needed most in the Strabane area and be a lasting tribute in Rory’s  memory
