Story
A message from Rory and Erin:
We signed up for this abseil back in May to raise money for Friends of the Cancer Centre to repay in some small way the amazing support we, as a family, have received from the many Doctors, nurses and staff in the Cancer Centre over the course of Dad's illness. This has included access to Mel, our wonderful Renal Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist, whose post is funded by Friends of the Cancer Centre. We hope you will support our efforts - any donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
The Friends of the Cancer Centre work focuses on four key areas – patient care, patient comfort, research and cancer awareness – supporting the services provided by the Health Service.
In the last year the charity has invested over £1.13 million into local cancer services through the life-saving and life-changing work they support. The sponsorship money raised through this event helps fund the charity's vital support services to patients and their families across Northern Ireland.
How your support can make a difference:
£10 could provide tea and coffee for 43 people attending the hospital for treatment
£25 could help pay for an hour of support from a Friends of the Cancer Centre speciality nurse
£50 could pay for 2 patients to receive a complementary therapy session to help manage the side effects of treatment
£200 could help support a patient financially through the grant programme
