Story
Last year the often unspoken uncertainty of life crashed into our consciousness. Becky, my beautiful wife was told that she had Multiple Sclerosis, an unpredictable and currently incurable autoimmune disease that attacks the central nervous system.
Needless to say our world was initially thrown upside down as we tried to figure out what that meant for our family. However, from diagnosis through to present day I have had the pleasure of experiencing first hand her strength, positivity and selflessness. I’ve never been as in awe of anyone as I am of Becky and the way she has handled the news and subsequent adjustments, all the while being the most present, loving and patient mummy for Casper.
Her resilience and mental fortitude have inspired me to test mine, and so I’ve decided to stop putting it off and run my first marathon to raise money for MS Society that will help them find that cure, and my best friend Mark Gleeson (a seasoned long distance runner) has agreed to pitch in and drag me around the 26.2 mile course and help to raise over £10,000 in the process.
So if you can, please dig deep and contribute what you’re able to.
Lots of love Rory & Mark
