The London Marathon is London's most popular sporting event with over 40,000 people taking part.

Story

We are running in memory of Rory’s brother Bas, who tragically collapsed and died while playing rugby due to an undiagnosed heart condition. Bas carried the same genetic condition that claimed the life of his father, Howard, who also died while playing rugby a decade earlier. Sadly, Howard’s death was misdiagnosed by pathologists, leaving Bas’s condition undetected.

We are running the London Marathon together in memory of Bas, and to raise money for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).

Every week in the UK, 12 young people die from undiagnosed heart conditions. Since 1995, CRY has worked to reduce young sudden cardiac deaths (YSCD). CRY supports those with life-threatening cardiac conditions, offers bereavement support, promotes heart screenings, funds research, and provides vital medical information.

By supporting CRY, we want to help save lives and remember the memory of those lost.
