Story
Rory and Jon are trekking the Southern Upland Way Walk - it is 210 miles across Scotland, coast to coast! They are raising awareness of the homeless crisis within BANES (Bath and surrounding areas).
The Manvers hostel can accommodate up to 24 people per night. Due to budget cuts across council services, there is an increased demand for beds. At the moment, we do not have enough space to keep up with demand.
We need to relocate soon and at present looking for alternative accommodation.
All money raised will go directly to the new direct access hostel where ever that may be in the Bath area. This means that anyone vulnerable can present at the hostel at any time and they will be given a bed. They stay with us until we have found them alternative accommodation which can take in some cases 6 months or more.
We will be post updates throughout the walk.
Rory and Jon both have experienced homelessness themselves and have had issues relating to people in crisis.
