Story

Rona Gordon, a seven year old from Perrott Hill School, Somerset, is hoping to raise sponsorship funds by completing a challenge to cycle 100km. Rona will start her journey on May 24th 2025, and will take 5 days to complete her challenge.

Rona is also a bat lover and as a current member of The Bat Conservation Trust, she is keen to support their work, learning about the importance of bats to the environment around us. For more information on The Bat Conservation Trust and the work they do click: https://www.bats.org.uk/our-work

The Back Up Trust has been chosen by Rona as the only UK charity that supports children and young adults with spinal injuries. After her good friend was paralysed from the waist down following a sudden illness, Rona has been looking at ways she could help. For more information on The Back Up Trust and the work they do click: https://www.backuptrust.org.uk/get-involved/why-support-us

To enable this fundraising for both these charities, Rona has chosen to cycle the distance in the Netherlands, supported by family and friends.

We are the leading NGO solely devoted to the conservation of bats. Bats play a vital role in our environment but during the last century have suffered severe declines. We are working to secure the future of bats by tackling threats such as persecution, loss of roosts and changing land use.
