In August 2024 I am going to be trekking Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest peak in Africa to raise money for the Meningitis Research Foundation. 

Meningitis is a potentially fatal disease that causes inflammation of the brain and spinal cord, and can strike without warning, often affecting babies, young children, and teenagers. The disease can cause lifelong disabilities such as deafness, brain damage, and limb amputations. The Meningitis Research Foundation is working to change this.

Since its founding in 1989, the Meningitis Research Foundation has funded ground breaking research, provided support to those affected by meningitis, and raised awareness about the disease. They have helped fund over 250 research projects, and has helped to reduce the number of deaths caused by meningitis by 95%. 

By supporting the Meningitis Research Foundation, you can help to fund vital research into new treatments and vaccines for meningitis. You can also help to provide support for families affected by the disease, and raise awareness about the importance of prevention and early diagnosis.
