I serve on the Board of Directors of Dawning Family Services. Formerly known as Alpha House of Tampa, we have served Tampa and Hillsborough County since 1981. Dawning Family Services is changing lives by helping families with children who are experiencing homelessness. As a Board Member, I hear their stories every day; loving parents who never imagined they would be forced into homelessness. Our services include Family Homeless Prevention, Emergency Shelter, Rapid Re-housing, and Career Services. Last year we served 741 children and 435 parents, and there are many more who need help today.

On March 22nd Elizabeth and I will be participating in “Dusk til Dawn”, a sleep out to elevate awareness of family homelessness and raise funds to support our mission.
