Story
I am taking on the 2025 London Marathon for Sense!
Sense is an amazing and invaluable national Charity that supports people who are deafblind and those with complex disabilities, to be understood, connected and valued.
They are there for every person who faces communication barriers in a world that relies on being able to see and hear well to be connected. Together we can unlock barriers to communication so no one is isolated, left out or unable to fulfil their potential.
London is not my first Marathon, but it surely will be the greatest running experience of my life. To be offered a place by Sense is a real honour. In my daily life, I work with adults with complex needs, often unheard and forgotten by society. It is fitting that I can run a race that is so special to me for personal reasons, and raise a ton of money to help others - those people that Sense support.
In the last 18 months my life has changed so much. I ran my first Marathon (Manchester), moved house twice, ran my first Ultra Marathon and most notably, became a father. In amongst this time there was also sadness, both personally and for others. Tragedy really.
In my own personal life - it has not always been easy. Loss, loss of way and some real life struggles. The point is that I got the right support and have today, amazing people around me from family, work and personal friends and an amazing partner who just gets me and is the mother of our beautiful daughter.
Yes I love running, yes you could argue it's quite self indulgent! But I have never not raised money for a charity and that will never differ. Give back to others as was given to me.
Training for a Marathon is tough, but living with disability can be tough too. Help me to help others, raise money, change lives and come roar me round the streets of London, in the 45th London Marathon, the most famous Marathon of them all.
Thank you for helping me reach my London Marathon goal.
