Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page supporting the MND Association.

I recently had the pleasure of running Medina Park Run with one of my Primary School friends, David Baker. I also ran with his wife Alice and some of their friends that had travelled over with them from Southampton that day. We spent time chatting through our run and later at a fundraiser in Cowes called Sounds and Grounds.

Eight months ago, David was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, yet he didn't stop smiling, laughing and joking all day. David's positivity left me so emotional in that he and Alice have such a positive outlook, they are positive in their thinking and are now looking at what they can tick off their bucket list whilst they're still able to. From my conversations with David and Alice, MNDA have been a real support and help to them.

I want to raise as much money as I can for MNDA so that they can continue to support those living with MND. In order to do this, I have challenged myself to not only run the Great South Run, but also run a total of 100km throughout October. The latter was suggested by some friends who will also run 100km in October for MNDA.

If you can support my fundraiser in any way, please do. None of us know what the future holds but we would all hope that when dealt and unfair hand, friends and family would rally in support.

Glen Jones is organising a friendly frolic fun run on 22nd October, starting at 10am from the Bargeman's Rest, Newport. A friend called Cat also has some amazing ideas for our fundraising effort. These will be shared on our Facebook pages in due course so please keep an eye out.

The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. By sponsoring me your money will help people affected by Motor Neurone Disease. Once you donate, JustGiving will send your money directly to the MND Association. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure, your details are safe - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Thank you again.
