On the 21st April 2024, we will be running the London Marathon in aid of The Lullaby Trust.

We are taking on this challenge – the furthest either of us has ever run – in memory of our older sister, Augusta, who would have been 31 this year but tragically died in her sleep at just four weeks old. The cause of her death was unknown but was categorised as SIDS – Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, also known as cot death. Sadly this is not a diagnosis as, despite years of research, no one has found a definitive reason for these sudden deaths. Though we never knew our sister, she has been part of our family all of our lives so running the Marathon in her memory will be an incredibly special and important moment for us.

While a healthy dose of Butler competitiveness will help us through the daunting training programme ahead, your donations will be the real driver for us so any amount you can donate will be hugely appreciated.

Around three babies a week still die from SIDS and the Lullaby Trust is committed to funding cutting-edge research that could prevent this from happening. The Trust also supports families who have lost a baby – it helped our parents with advice and counselling 31 years ago – and teaches parents how to reduce the risk of SIDS.
