Story

I’m tackling The National Three Peaks Challenge again on 20th & 21st July 2024 - climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales in 24 hours - to support Barking Mad Dog Rescue, a small UK charity which works to improve the lives of abandoned dogs in Romania.

Barking Mad Dog Rescue works with hands on teams at shelters in Constanta and Calarasi, where they care for around 500 dogs and puppies, many of whom have been rescued from unimaginable abuse and neglect.

In BMDR’s shelters, the dogs find safe haven from some of the most unimaginable abuse. BMDR also has a dedicated UK team of volunteers who facilitate adoptions.

My challenge begins at 5pm on 20th July with the aim of completion by 5pm on 21st July. Total ascent is 10,052ft over 23 miles. It took me 27.5 hours last year and I’m hoping to meet or at least get closer to the 24 hour target this time.

Thanks for reading this, and I hope you can donate to help this great charity in their vital, life saving work.
