In memory of Julie

Story

Along with an incredible group of people, I'm going to be joining the South Western leg of this cycling challenge to raise funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, in support of footballer Marcus Stewart who was diagnosed with MND in 2022.

The full ride is covering over 1,000 kilometers climbing over 9,000 meters in height and visiting 7 of Marcus's football clubs that he played for: Bristol Rovers, Huddersfield Town, Ipswich Town, Sunderland, Bristol City, Yeovil Town, and Exeter City.

I'll be riding the South West leg, covering 380kms from Bristol City-Exeter-Yeovil-Bristol Rovers.

MND is a rare incurable condition affecting the brain and nerves. Most people don't survive more than a few years with MND, but some people can live with it for many years.

Of course, there's a more personal element to this, as I lost my mother in law, Julie, to MND in 2022, and my mum to a similar condition, MS a few years before that. So I'll be riding for them as much as for Marcus.

Anything you can spare will be greatly appreciated.
