About me
I started my ultra running journey through a local running group in 2018 and participated in 3 ultra running challenges with my deaf twin brother Alasdair doing the Jurassic Coast, lake district and peak district 50K that has helped me with mental health and well being by being active and out on the hills.
My ultra training is varied from doing 5K park runs with my friends and family to hill training sessions in Burnley, Glossop or Entwistle reservoir and from time to time I go to Yorkshire dales, Snowdonia or Lakes to run or hike up big hills.
My running buddies at the local running group Dukes Drive Monton are my training buddies that i can rely on for support and encouragments.
I have tried to attempt the 100 mile wales trail ultra in the summer of 2024 and got a DNF after 90 miles. Despite the DNF, I am still very determined to reach my goal in completing my first 100mile ultra in the most challenging of terrain and conditions starting in the middle of the UK winter. The Arc of Attrition is organised by UTMB and the race start at Coverack in Cornwall and finish at Portowan.
I will be supported by my lovely partner in crime Ruth Montgomery and my brother Al who has crewed me on my previous ultra trail races in 2024 so I am fortunate to have a very capable and mobile crew team to meet me along the key checkpoints.
Follow me on my 100 mile ultra training journey for the next 2 months to participate in the most gruelling 100 mile race in the UK in the middle of the winter Arc of Attrition.
Prior to the race day, you can follow me on the live link as I will be carrying a GPS tracker and looking forward to your messages of encouragement and remind me not to stop or dally wag! One step forward and always keep moving!
I have 9 weeks of training to go and will be posting my training days on this channel so you can all follow me until the race day.
Cape Diem!
