Story
This is something I may regret in a few months but it’s a challenge I’ve wanted to complete for a long time. I watched my Dad run various marathons growing up, and from then it sparked my interest in running one myself. However, this challenge is more than a marathon and is part of the London 2 Brighton Ultra Challenge on the 25/26th May 2024. Where I’m looking to run 100km (62 miles) over 2 daylight days.
I’m not just doing this to challenge both my mind and body, but I’d love to raise money for Mind along the way.
The past 6 months have been the hardest in all of my life. Those closest to me know the struggles that I’ve gone through, with many mental health challenges throughout this time. There were times I couldn’t see a light at the end. Thankfully though I’ve had unwavering support throughout and I can’t thank those people enough. I’ve also been lucky to be able to afford therapy throughout this time, which I know isn’t an option for a lot of people. Therefore, raising money for Mind will help people not as fortunate as me to have support when in a crisis. I also have people very close to me that experience mental health issues everyday. Some of these have had support from Mind, which is why they’re a charity that mean a lot to me.
Like I’ve said, this is going to be a huge challenge, but is something I want to work hard at to achieve to not only do myself proud, my two beautiful boys proud and also raise as much money as I can at the same time.
It would be amazing if you could donate, even a small amount towards my challenge.
