Story
Hello friends & family,
I hope this finds you well. Next month I'm fortunate enough to run the London marathon, and the month following I will up the ante with a 100km race!
Both these feats are in aid of RSBC and the incredible work they do. Any donations are much appreciated and please feel free to get into the city for a great race day. Let me know where you'll be along the course and I'll make sure to speed up for those sections:) Race day is 21st April!
Along the journey I will challenge myself each month to complete a themed task based on my favourite books. Please feel free to get involved with ideas and share the fun to increase awareness!
November: Discipline is destiny - Push up challenge
December: Atomic habits - Cold shower every day
January: Can't hurt me - Ultra marathon and 5k log carry
February: I may be wrong - Meditation
March: 12 Rules for life - Putting my house in perfect order
April: Art of resilience - Marathon time!
May: 100k ultra!
Please get involved whichever way you see fit and any donations are hugely appreciated. Here's a bit about what your donations mean...
Today there are an estimated 44,000 blind and partially sighted children in England and Wales. Each day, four more children will be diagnosed with sight loss.
Blind children are twice as likely to be bullied - One in three will suffer from depression and other mental health issues - 90% will never have a long-term job - Two thirds of blind people are living on or below the poverty line - Most will never have a meaningful relationship
RSBC help blind children to realise their potential. They run a family support service, working with families to help provide the best possible environment for their child to grow and thrive. They also help blind children to develop confidence and independence through a range of programmes and activities, building amazing friendships.
Thank you all for your support.
Love & Champagne,
Rob
