Story
Hello everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to look at my Just Giving page for Daybreaks Trust. I have started this Just Giving page for people to help me raise as much money as I possibly can for Daybreaks Trust. Myself, staff and volunteers from the kennels have already completed a bike ride in 2022. Me, work colleagues and friends have participated in the Autumn Wolf Run 2023. I also organise and run Roadshows where we go to a venue to spread awareness about Daybreaks as a charity and to raise funds for our vital work.
I have volunteered for Daybreaks since December 2021. It started off couple weeks before Christmas 2021 when me and my partner donated toys, treats, food, bedding, blankets, towels. Anything a dog could use we donated it. It was also helped by the donation by my employer Wasps rugby team by giving 2 Wasps playing shirts which were both signed by the first time. Note: That was at the time of my employment with the team, they have since ceased trading/playing as of November 2022.
In September 2022 we unfortunately lost our dog Cash at the grand age of 14. She was the most amazing, well behaved and perfect dog. We miss her terribly, and I couldn’t live my life without a dog around me. Which is where Daybreaks came into my life for the long term. When I went to the kennels I was in my happy place and I knew it was helping with my own mental health knowing I was doing a good thing.
Then in February 2023 a shining star arrived at the kennels by the racing name Heathmill Emer, then called Emer whilst in the kennels, her page can be located here: http://daybreakstrust.co.uk/dog/2488. She caught my eye the week of her arriving. She was such a happy go lucky girl, so loving every time I went to see her and full body colour of black with white down her chest and toes. I fell in love with her. My family fell in love with her. She was then reserved by us for adoption. We picked her up and took her home and called her Penny in memory of Cash. I am so proud of myself, my family and Daybreaks.
Daybreaks help retired racing greyhounds find their forever loving homes. Greyhounds retire for any reason but Daybreaks will be right there so they can then be in a home as a pet. More info on Daybreaks can be found here: http://daybreakstrust.co.uk/
Remember: If you sponsor myself for an event or as a one off donation to Daybreaks. Make sure you Gift Aid your donation. Its an extra 25% the charity can receive at no extra cost to yourself.
This page will be updated for each event we do for Daybreaks. Please consider sharing this page with friends and family to help us do more.
Thank you.
Rob
