Story
in January our baby, Shane was treated for Bacterial Meningitis in Warrington hospital. This resulted in a stay in hospital and aggressive treatment of the condition. The rapid accurate response from the staff proved to be life saving for our lad. We are endlessly grateful to the staff at Warrington hospital for saving Shane, and we absolutely can’t fault the hospitality and care we were shown throughout our stay in the children’s ward. I am going to be running 50 gruelling miles on March 2nd and am taking this opportunity to raise money in support for the children and families also facing incredibly difficult times in our local hospital.
Thank you to all of the staff in the children's A&E and ward B10/B11. We’re privileged and fortunate to have such a dedicated resilient team of people on our doorstep, saving the precious lives of our children.
WHH Charity-
Our latest children's ward campaign has been launched to raise money to provide direct benefit for our young patients and their families beyond which the NHS is able to provide.
The Campaign target is £45k, of which will enhance the experience and provide comfort to our young patients.
The children's ward at Warrington Hospital holds a vision to enhance the ward play area into a multi-functional room, providing educational, sensory and stimulating equipment of which may not only boost recovery but also create and area where our young patients can build new friendships and memories.
Another element of the Campaign would be to provide a Mobile Activity Centre for teenagers, research and experience has shown our teenage patients do not tend to leave their own bed space, however with this activity centre the opportunity to provide this additional opportunity of entertainment, helping aid recovery.
