Christmas is a difficult time of year for the families RHMC supports: they feel guilt at not being able to give their children a “normal” Christmas, sad that siblings are missing Christmas activities at their school and anxious about the treatments and hospital visits that continue throughout the festive season.

When families are facing the unimaginable, the smallest gesture can mean the world.

That's why our House Teams work so hard to make Christmas special for every family staying with us - whether it’s a family Christmas movie night in our Dayroom, or a suprise change of Christmas bedding in their rooms - we gift moments that last lifetimes.

Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children having treatment in hospital.

Our Houses offer much more than just a place to stay; they provide family activities, peer support, respite, and many other services. This means that families can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life with reduced emotional and financial strain.
