Story
Help us raise money for two amazing charities Lingen Davies and Cure Leukaemia
A team of 12 employees, suppliers and customers of Rix Oakleys Mercia will be taking on a nine-day challenge to cycle from Land's End to John o'Groats (LEJOG).
We are raising funds for two amazing charities, each with their own stories which resonate strongly within our organisation.
All of this wouldn't be possible without the following people, pushing themselves to acheive this challenging target;
Ian Cooke
Julie Beath
Paul Sharples
Anthony Moss
Richard Gough
Matthew Ward
Paul Barker
Dave Foden
Vince Wilson
Tony French
Ruairidh Beath
Lingen Davies
Everyone in Shropshire/Mid-Wales that suffers from cancer uses the services of Lingen Davies. They are a fantastic local charity who are very close to our hearts as a number of the Rix Oakleys team, as well as friends and family, have experienced their wonderful care.
Cure Leukaemia
One of Ruairidh Beath's (Director of Rix Oakleys Mercia) closest friends was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive strain of Leukaemia two years ago. Ruairidh noticed on a Sunday ride that his friend wasn’t performing his best, after the usual ribbing and at the end of the ride, he was unusually exhausted. After seeing the doctor on Monday, he was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday and started chemo on Friday.
The intervention of Cure Leukaemia with a treatment plan and the care of Lingen Davies saved his life. The great news is that he is now cancer free, which is unbelievable given his initial diagnosis.
Rix Oakleys, Lingen Davies and Cure Leukaemia will ensure all donations will be split 50/50 between these two fantastic causes.
