Story

Let's face it, life can get a little messy. Between work deadlines, smelly diapers and the never-ending to-do list, sometimes the brain just needs a break.

For me, that break comes in the form of pounding the pavement. Yep, you heard that right, I'm a running addict! (It may be a midlife crisis)

It all started as a way to clear my head and maybe outrun some stress. But then, something magical happened. My daughter arrived, the cutest little cheerleader you've ever seen (seriously, biased much?). Watching her in the arms of my wife, light up every time I cross the finish line (even if it's dead last) made me realise how important mental health is for everyone, not just tired dads like me.

That's where Samaritans comes in. These amazing folks provide a listening ear and a safe space for anyone struggling. They're basically the superheroes of mental well-being, and I want to be their sidekick (in running gear!).

So, here's the crazy part: to raise money for Samaritans, I'm embarking on a ridiculously ambitious running journey:

March: 4 Half Marathons (wish me luck!)

April: London Landmarks Half Marathon & the actual London Marathon (yikes!)

June: The Azores 50k Ultramarathon (because apparently, I like to torture myself)

July: Asics 10k Run (a chance to catch my breath...maybe)

October: Royal Parks Half Marathon (just for good measure)

That's a whole lot of miles, a whole lot of sweat, and hopefully, a whole lot of money raised for Samaritans.

Here's where you come in!

Want to join me on a run? Awesome! My pace is somewhere between "determined sloth" and "slightly faster sloth," so no pressure. Can't run? No worries! Donate or cheer me on from the side lines (bribes of cookies for my daughter are highly encouraged). And if you can't make it, follow me on from social media on @fueledbycaffeineandcuddles

Together, let's show the world that mental health matters, and that sometimes, the best way to deal with stress is to run away from it... for a good cause!
