I'm excited about the opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project in Guatemala, where I'll be volunteering with the Casas por Cristo organization in the rural community of San Raymundo. During my time there, I'll be actively involved in building a home for a family from the ground up. Our primary focus is on house construction, while also showing the community the love of God and establishing relationships with the people there.

This trip will take me beyond my normal experiences, as my international travels have been limited to a trip to Canada. Despite not having prior experience with a project of this scale, I'm genuinely looking forward to being part of a team serving in Guatemala.

Our mission is more than providing a temporary solution; it's about making a lasting impact by establishing a permanent home for a family in need. This mission is an opportunity not just to construct a house but also to instill a sense of belonging and security for a family.

My goal is not only to make a positive impact on their lives but also to undergo personal growth. This trip offers a unique chance for me to spend an entire week solely focused on serving others. The prospect of venturing into a different environment, engaging in construction (a task I've never attempted before), and connecting with people from a diverse culture promises to shape my perspective and enhance my development as a servant leader.
