Story
Hi! My name is Sam, I'm 13 and I'm aiming to raise 120 thousand pounds for Alzheimer's society. May sound ambitious but you can help! I've been growing my hair for 3 years since my last charity haircut and now it's time for another trim! And this time I'm going BALD FOR BOWLES
Why am I doing this?
In February last year I lost my friend Maggie who is pictured in the bottom left. Then my friends at E.Pellicci in East London lost their aunt Mary who is pictured with her brother Nevio. And then QPR legend Stan Bowles passed away. All from forms of Dementia and Alzheimer's.
Who I'm doing it for
Maggie Davies was born, lived, worked and passed in W12 Maggie worked in Hammersmith hospital as a nurse, in the outpatient department, retiring at 75. She afforded a sort of celebrity status locally as she was known and loved by so many people that she met and cared for through her job. After beating Cancer in 2007 Sadly old age and dementia took Maggie away last year leaving us with wonderful memories of a truly fantastic woman.
Mary Gazzi nee Pellicci was the youngest and last surviving of the 7 Pellicci children that grew up above the cafe. She and our lovely dad Nev were the 2 youngest siblings and always very close Auntie Mary was gorgeous, funny, vivacious, just the best company ever and was responsible for teaching us the art of talking !!! 🥰 Sadly, Alzheimer’s cruelly came along but still she was warm, tactile and loved company and everyone that met her, loved her
Stan Bowels Footballer, Dad, Grandad, uncle and inspiration for the £120,000 target. Legend.
