Story
We are a crew of friends and family who have run together every year since my son Oli was diagnosed with Type 1 in December 2017. Many of the children have run since they were 6. Some of the crew are T1, all are amazing kind and generous people, some who can actually run, others who stumble around the course smiling regardless! Together we have raised over £15,000. Some for JDRF, the type 1 research charity, and more recently, for the UN Refugee Agency. This year we are running once again to support refugees all over the world including those affected by the earthquakes in Syria and Turkey and the Ukraine conflict. We would be extremely grateful for any donations and encouraging messages - we read every one and they are a great booster on a wet morning when we need to get out and train, and on the day, to focus us over the finish line that little bit faster! Please support our cause - the UN Refugee Agency desperately needs help - any one of us could be a refugee - there are refugee children currently in our schools. We understand that ‘no one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark’ (Warsan Shire): when there is no other option. Refugees typically arrive, wherever that may be, with nothing.
