Story
We at Richmond Volleyball Club are lucky to have such a fantastic group of players, coaches, parents, volunteers and supporters. Since the start of the indoor season all Richmond players have been working hard honing their volleyball skills, learning the values of teamwork, meeting new friends, playing matches, experiencing the excitement of competition, getting loads of exercise and much, much more. Our Beach and Community Divisions continue to grow with all sessions running at full capacity as well!!
Several years ago I ran the idea of doing something to raise money for charity during the last training weeks before Christmas and a small group of girls were very excited and keen to get involved. We raised £500 that first year and it was a super experience for everyone involved. We have now extended the Digs for Kids event across the club with the Beach, Community, Boys and Mens Divisions all getting involved raising more than £5,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust since starting in 2019.
We chose to support the Teenage Cancer Trust as we wanted to help those who are not able to play the sport we all love as they are battling this life threatening disease on a daily basis particularly at such a young age.
The task we have set forth for this year is to perform a whopping 125,000 Digs during the last weeks of training before Christmas.
This is no easy feat however the Club is up for it again this year but really need your support as well to reach our fundraising goal of £1,000.
So please tell your friends, family, co-workers, neighbours etc and help the Richmond Junior Girls, Junior Boys, Mens, Womens, Beach and Community players smash their fundraising goal. Any amount given is most greatly appreciated and will help us make a difference to the lives of those who need it most.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from everyone at Richmond Volleyball Club and we sincerely thank you for your support!
