Story
Alongside 12 other work colleagues at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, we are helping to raise money for the Airports chosen charity, Alder Hey. We will be taking part in many challenges and events over the next 6 months. The challenges are, rowing from the Isle of Man to Liverpool airport, the national 3 peaks in under 24hours (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, Snowdon) and my son also wants to help out by walking snowdon for his first time at 9 years of age. All of these challenges will lead us to our Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu. This will consist of a 4 day trek surpassing 4000m at its highest point. I will post regular updates regarding challenges along the way.
Our aim is to raise £80,000 for a new Family Room within Alder Heys new state of the art Surgical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. These rooms enable parents and their families to be alongside their poorly new born babies, whilst they receive expert care with state-of-the-art innovative technology to monitor their condition. I can speak first had to the importance of these rooms as when my son was born he was looked after in one of these units, for 3 weeks.
