Story
On 14 April 2019 I was in a serious car accident and was airlifted by Hampshire and IOW Air Ambulance to Brighton Hospital for life saving surgery.
As my legs were broken, I had metal rods from knee to ankle in both legs fitted. I couldn't walk any kind of distance for a number of months and used a wheelchair and crutches.
I'm setting a target to walk 64 miles in the month of May in recognition of the 5 year anniversary of the accident and of my mother-in-law Yvonne who was 64 when she sadly passed away at the scene.
The target will be a challenge as I do suffer from pain in my knees and ankles randomly some days but especially when walking longer distances, but this cause is more than worth it!
Please donate generously, thank you. Please read below for information about the amazing work the charity does.
Saving Lives Through Your Support.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance brings an advanced critical care team to people in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight when they need it most.
Highly skilled crews of Doctors, Paramedics and Pilots can be at the scene of an incident within minutes.
It currently costs in excess of £15,000 a day to maintain our life saving service, and it is only thanks to the generosity of the communities that we serve that we are able keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives.
