Richard's fundraiser for Sarcoma UK

Brighton Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
I'm incredibly proud to say Sarcoma UK have let me put my running shoes back on again and given me a place to run this year’s Brighton Marathon in memory of my Dad.
Dad passed away from an aggressive soft tissue Sarcoma in December 2018, there is not a day that goes by I do not think of him.
Dad was only 63 and fit and healthy at the time. His cancer was misdiagnosed at the beginning which is one of the reasons I’m keen to raise awareness for Sarcoma UK.
After many repeated operations to remove soft tissue sarcoma growths on his elbow it spread to his lung.
There was still hope in having it removed and subsequent radiation treatments.
At the point of the operation, it was clear it had spread too far too fast and he was told 6 months. Two months later he passed away at home surrounded by his family.
In those final moments rather than sit and wait we made the very best of it with him making sure we created as many memories along the way, in this time he was remarkably brave and kept smiling.
This particular type of cancer makes me angry as it took my Dad away, by doing this hopefully the money we raise will help support someone else’s family and get a step closer to treatments of the disease.
Please show your support and donate in his name to the charity.
