Story
Lindsey was the salutatorian of Wellsville’s graduation class of 2004. She was diagnosed with a rare nerve cancer at the end of her freshman year at WVU. She was able to receive her treatment at Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital despite her age of 19 at the time. In the 22 months she fought her cancer, she endured countless surgeries, treatments and procedures always keeping her infectious smile on her face.On her last Christmas, she mentioned a young girl she had befriended who had to spend Christmas Day in the hospital. She wished she could have gotten her a gift. Her friends and family have made that wish come true for so many children over the last 16 years. Up until the pandemic there has been a toy drive that has brought several thousand gifts for the children. The last two years the hospital has set up a special page to honor Lindsey and the children For the first 13 years since her death the family and friends of Lindsey Salsberry of Wellsville has participated in a toy drive for Pittsburgh Children’s Hospital. In that time over 15,000 gifts were delivered to the hospital. Now due to infection concerns the hospital requested that future donations be done through this site. Please donate directly to the hospital in Lindsey’s name so that her Christmas dream will stay alive
