Story
Our dear dad (father inlaw) sadly passed away suddenly on 30th August 2023.
We wanted to do something to make our dad proud, and something that’s challenging, and for a fantastic cause.
Over the last 2 years I had walked two marathons, and after the last I promised Dad I wouldn’t do another! So, I got thinking and needed to do something more challenging but different as I couldn’t break my promise. I had a look on the British Heart foundations website and saw the London to Brighton bike ride, and thought that would be challenging and that was before I found out about ALL the hills!
Dad was a HUGE part of our lives and he is missed so much, every minute of every day. When we signed up for the ride, we purchased a pelaton, and on the wall next to our pelaton is a picture of Dad. Dad will be looking down on us and with us every pedal of the ride.
Bikes have been purchased and training has begun! 54 miles currently seems like a very long way!! If you see us on our training rides feel free to give us a beep and wave!
If you could spare even a pound to sponsor us we would be very grateful!
Dad had previously suffered several heart attacks. The care and rehab he received was fantastic. The BHF fund around £100 million of research each year into all heart and circulatory diseases and the things that cause them. Heart diseases. Stroke. Vascular dementia. Diabetes. They're all connected, and they're all under our microscope.Thousands of people every year are helped through the research we do. Research funded by everyday people, like you.
