Story
Those that know me well, know I’m a bit of an outdoor activity evangelist!
Over the summer I’m going to push my limits, for an excellent cause, by completing (hopefully!) two sporting milestones, neither of which I’ve done before:
So that anyone who can sponsor me knows they are getting ‘value for money’, my two big sporting objectives are:
1) The ‘extreme’ route of the Hospice’s Coast & Clay Cycling Sportive. This a 104 mile route across north, mid and south Cornwall on Sunday 30 June. I’ve never cycled over 100 miles in one route or one day!
2) A half marathon, the Indian Queens event, a few weeks later on Sunday 4 August. My legs are used to 5k routes, which I do regularly, I’ve never run a half marathon!
These events need different approaches to training, so it will be an interesting juggling act - getting the right training in, whilst also doing the usual daily stuff of home and work life!
If you can, please support this amazing organisation. It does incredible things for the people of Cornwall.
Cornwall Hospice Care incorporates Mount Edgcumbe Hospice in St Austell and St Julia's Hospice in Hayle, the only two adult hospices in Cornwall. With only 17% funding from the NHS commission, the rest of our funding comes entirely from the community; from people like you supporting us and taking part in our events, so thank you.
