Story
It was supposed to be a one-off test of mental and physical endurance.
But when I was offered the chance to do it all again and raise money for the My Name'5 Doddie Foundation, how could I refuse?
This year, I will join Babble RABble for Ride Across Britain 2024 and all donations will be hugely appreciated. Every £1 raised brings us closer to finding a cure for MND.
In 2022, I took part in Ride Across Britain and cycled 980 miles from Land's End to John O'Groats over 9 days. I was tested every day, no more so than on day 7 when it took me 10h20m to cycle 122 miles from Edinburgh to Strathdon (over Glenshee) into brutal headwinds.
Part 2 starts on 7 September, and this time I know what I'm letting myself in for. Wish me luck!
Team Babble: Please support us on our mission to raise £250k for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. Join us on our journey towards A World Free of MND.
The Babble RABble, a team of 80 riders, will be taking on the Babble Ride Across Britain in September 2024 to raise funds for the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation.
The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation was founded by the late Scottish international rugby player, Doddie Weir, who announced his diagnosis of MND in 2017. Together, we embark on an inspiring journey to support the foundation’s commitment to funding research for effective treatments and achieving their goal of A World Free of MND.
Your support, whether it’s donations, or cheering us on along the route in September, plays a crucial role in making a difference to those affected by MND.
