Story
This year the Central London Samaritans, the founding branch, will be 70 years old and I will have been a volunteer with the branch for 40 of those years.
In order to celebrate my connection with the branch and our dual anniversaries I wanted to do something challenging to raise funds for the branch.
I am therefore going to walk the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, which runs along the north coast of Spain. This was the third most important pilgrimage route in medieval times, after Jerusalem and Rome, and from the French border extends about five hundred miles.
Therefore this is my pilgrimage for my fellow volunteers and I hope my friends will support me in this endeavor.
Volunteers at CLS have been providing emotional support for people who are struggling to cope for 70 years. Our volunteers are here around the clock, every single day of the year.
