Event: The Chairman's Great Tommy Sleep Out 2024, on 14 March 2024
On Thursday 14th March, our Chairman, is holding an exclusive sleep out at Fort Amherst, where influencial business leaders will be sleeping out under the stars, while fundraising for our most vulnerable veterans.

Story

I'm sleeping in a shelter under the stars, whatever the weather on 14th March 2024 at Fort Amherst, replicating the experience that many of our Nation's heroes have to cope with on a nightly basis.

Right now, in the UK alone, it is estimated that 6000 veterans are experiencing homelessness in the UK. During the winter months Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) always see an increased number of veterans arrive at our door needing support, after experiencing extreme weather conditions, poor mental health, hunger and cold.

At the RBLI, they support over 340 veterans and their families, including those facing homelessness, young veteran families and older veterans with health conditions and theyare home to the Tommy. They provide emergency accommodation, essential toiletries, clothing and comprehensive mental health and employment support. There aim is to be a lifeline, preserving the well-being and dignity of these individuals and their families.
