Story
We set up The Giraffe Project in 2005 to help children who were excluded from schools, just because they had no one to pay the cost of education for them. Richard runs each year to raise money for the charity BUT
this is the first time Denise has attempted this distance!
Please encourage her with your support as we run to for some of the neediest children in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya.
Help Us Help Children "Walk Tall into their Future".
Your donations will
- educate children and young teenagers from the Kibera, Mathare North and Dandora slums who need help to escape poverty, and
- improve Primary Schools in the slums where they live.
Every donation helps! THANK YOU.
AND don't forget to leave a message of encouragement!!
This year we also run in memory of our dear friend and Giraffe colleague: Jürgen Könemann.
Jürgen passed away from cancer last year. Jürgen came to Kenya with in 2012 and quickly became a committed advocate for the kids he met. He loved to engage with ordinary Kenyans and became well loved by all. He served as a Trustee, Fundraiser and Sponsor and his critical eye and constructive advice are sorely missed.
A little more about the charity:
The charity funds over 400 students currently through it's sponsorship scheme but we want to help more of those who apply each year for help.
Lack of education condemns many young people to a future of poverty and uncertainty. For the girls it often means early pregnancy due to sexual abuse or teenage marriage.
The Giraffe Project sponsors these children through school and on into training in skills and qualifications for life.
Thanks so much for your interest and support.
