During Baby Loss Awareness Week (9th -15th October), Sands volunteers are creating Ribbon Display's in aid of Sands up and down the country.

Story

As part of Baby Loss Awareness week, 9-15th October there will be a number of awareness raising events, Ribbon Displays and Window Displays hosted by Clacton on Sea Sands.

Everyone is invited to join us at any and all events for Babyloss awareness week.

🧡Clacton on Sea Baby Loss Awareness Remembrance Ribbon Display at the Memorial Garden Railings, Clacton Seafront 9th-15th October – ribbons and teddies on the railings. People are also welcome to add their own ribbons to the display.

💙Holland on Sea Ribbon Display, Holland on Sea Public Hall, 139 Frinton Rd, Holland-on-Sea, CO15 5UR ribbons with baby names will be added to a tree in the garden of the public hall 9th-15th October - People are also welcome to add their own ribbons to the display.

🤍St Osyth Ribbon Display, St Osyth Cemetery, Clay Lane, St Osyth Essex CO16 8HQ ribbons will be added to the trellis on the chapel 9th-15th October. People are very welcome to also add their own ribbons to the display or lay flowers if they wish.

🧡 Thorpe-le-Soken Ribbon Display, Saint Michael's Parish Church, High Street, Thorpe-le-Soken CO16 0ED ribbons tied to the railings outside the church 9th-15th October. People are also welcome to add their own ribbons to the display.

💙 Saint Michael’s Parish Church, High Street, Thorpe-le-Soken CO16 0ED - During the Church Mass Service on Wednesday 9th October at 10am all babies taken too soon will be remembered together as a community and all are very welcome to attend the service to remember all our little ones together. There will also be an opportunity to light a candle. Tea and Coffee will also be available after the service. Please do note that there is limited parking at the church.

🤍 L & K Funeral Directors, St Osyth – Baby Loss Awareness Week Window Display, Heart shapes with baby names will be placed in the window during Baby Loss Awareness Week 9th-15th October

🤍 Coffee morning in the assembly hall, Holland on Sea Public Hall, 139 Frinton Rd, Holland-on-Sea, CO15 5UR on Thursday 10th October 10am -12am please do join us for tea, coffee and biscuits, ribbons will also be available for you to write and add to the tree

🧡 Store Collection at Morrisons, Little Clacton – Friday 11th October 10am-2pm – ribbons will be available.

💙 Ribbon Walk – Saturday 12th October - Clacton on Sea Seafront, meet at the Baby Loss Awareness Remembrance Ribbon Display for 9.45am, walk starts at 10am – 5k walk along the seafront.

🤍 Store Collection at Asda – Saturday 12th October 12noon-4pm – ribbons will be available.

Loss of a baby or pregnancy is heart-breaking, this is happening to families across the UK everyday. During Baby Loss Awareness Week, we want to create a special display to remember all the baby’s lost and we invite you to join us in remembering yours.

Ribbons/hearts displaying the names of the babies being remembered will be added to the ribbon displays and window displays from the 9th October and will remain in place till the 15th.

All monies raised will go to Sands, who work to save babies lives and support bereaved families.
