Story
Diwali is a wonderful festival of light and giving, hence why it is an important time to provide help and aid for those who need it. @fusefm and @getcraftforcharity are running a Diwali Craft Evening in which profits will be donated to the cause. We would like to encourage donations, especially from those unable to make the event but wanting to help with such an amazing cause!
Diwali Basket Brigade (DBB) is a community initiative funded on donations and run by local volunteers. We provide food hampers to socially deprived / vulnerable households, from all faiths and backgrounds in the UK, ahead of Diwali.
DBB will be taking place on 4th and 5th November 2023 when we will get together at venues in Birmingham, London, Manchester and Leicester to pack and deliver the hampers. Given the current economic climate, there is an even BIGGER need to support the increasing number of families living with food poverty.
We have partnered with multiple food banks and charities across the UK to provide food hampers. These will then be distributed by our partners, to socially deprived, and vulnerable families from all faiths and backgrounds. The hampers will cost £10 each and contain essential non-perishable food items, toiletries such as toothpaste and also a handmade Diwali card - we hope each gift will help to spread the message of hope, love and giving at Diwali.
