Story
As a child who experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), the NSPCC is a charity very close to my heart. Growing up, I faced numerous challenges, but I was fortunate to have support from a wide network of people, including family members and friends. This support has been instrumental in helping me overcome my past and pursue my dreams.
I am now in a position I once only dreamed of, studying for a PhD in education, and I recognise how lucky and fortunate I am to be where I am today. Not all children have the same opportunities or support that I did, and this is why I am deeply committed to raising awareness about childhood abuse and the vital work the NSPCC does.
Running the London Marathon for the NSPCC is more than just a personal challenge; it is an opportunity to give back and to help provide the crucial support that many children desperately need. I hope to use this platform to raise funds and awareness, ensuring that every child has access to the help they require to overcome their adversities and build a brighter future.
By fundraising for the NSPCC, I aim to contribute to a cause that can make a profound difference in the lives of vulnerable children, just as the support I received made a difference in mine. Together, we can help ensure that no child feels alone or unsupported in their time of need.
Every childhood is worth fighting for.
