Please lets' dig deep for Water for Gambia!
Imagine having to walk for miles only to queue up to get a drum of drinking water that you will then need to carry back and you do this every day. Your livestock drink contaminated water. Your farmlands gets minimum water supply and as a result you get limited crops. Unfortunately, this is the reality in other parts of our world. We can't eradicate the worlds problem but we can help a small community.
We are running London, Luton, Bedford Runfest and washing cars to generate funds to enable villagers to draw fresh drinking water directly from deep below supplying to approximately 17,000 villagers in Gambia. Please help as much as you can.
This year we are partnering with YMO to bring clean and safe drinking water to those in need!
Did you know that every day an average of 6,000 people, mostly children die in developing countries due to lack of clean water, sanitation and knowledge of basic hygiene practices? It is a statistic that YMO is trying to change and your help is needed. According to UNICEF 43% of water consumed by the population of Gambia is contaminated. This puts these communities at considerable risk from water borne diseases, on top of dehydration, leading to many lost lives. Borehole’s can provide a reliable source of clean and safe water. This basic human necessity provides a platform with long term benefits to the local population, farmland and animals. Access to safe and clean water for drinking, helps eradicate the risk of contracting water-borne disease. This empowers these communities to flourish, developing irrigation, farming capabilities and safe, healthy eating.
YMO's vision is to provide 20 Boreholes in various deprived villages in and around the capital of Banjul, identified by our team on the ground, which are in urgent need of clean water. These 20 boreholes will provide water to over 17,000 villagers, their livestock and farmlands.
Please donate generously for Gambia Water Aid Project to provide clean and safe water to thousands of villagers.
Thank you very much!
