I started my training a bit late, but I’m getting on track. Not looking for a podium this year but have been given a generous incentive to finish under 4 hours….

So the challenge is on….

Running a marathon isn’t about turning up on the day. The donations are earned on the cold wet mornings when you drag yourself out of a warm bed to go do your long run.

Charities rely on the money that is raised to keep them functioning and doing the great work that they do, and leukaemia care is always close to my heart. And the London marathon is always a great opportunity to help them.

Being a publican, and being in contact with so many people, I see myself in a privileged position to raise money. A privilege I am happy to use.

I have already received some incredibly generous donations, and every time it touches me. These kind givings resonate in my head at around mile 23 when the pain starts kicking in.
