Story

We often take for granted our Boston Public Libraries and all the amazing resources they provide us. Beyond books, DVDs, and music, they also provide diverse and engaging community events, ESL classes, resources for people experiencing homelessness, and so much more, all for FREE. During a time when free public resources and spaces are diminishing (as we saw with NYC limiting their library hours and access), we need your support to continue to best serve our communities.

Every dollar raised makes a huge difference to our neighborhood branches. In 2023, your donations delivered more than $63,000 to 21 of our branches and funded 29 new and innovative programs. This includes the groundbreaking Nutrition Lab and Chef In Residency at the Roxbury Branch of the Boston Public Library increasing nutrition literacy, providing free health cooking classes, and more.

Please join me in donating to the Boston Public Library for National Library Giving Day to invest in our communities and express thanks for all the impactful work our library staff accomplishes for us.
