Story
Happy National Library Week! The Boston Public Library (BPL) uniquely enriches learning, creativity, and connection in our communities. Beyond books and DVDs, the BPL shares diverse and engaging community programs including ESOL classes, cooking workshops in the Nutrition Lab, resources for 1,500+ people experiencing homelessness annually, support for entrepreneurs and local businesses, and so much more, all for FREE.
We often take the BPL for granted, but during a time when access to free public resources and community spaces are diminishing and under attack, we need to show our continued investment in and willingness to stand up for the BPL. We need your support to continue to best serve our communities.
Every dollar raised makes a huge difference. Last year, your donations delivered more than $75,000 to our 25 neighborhood branches and funded dozens of new and innovative programs. This includes the groundbreaking Nutrition Lab and Chef In Residency at the Roxbury Branch which is increasing nutrition literacy and providing free healthy cooking classes.
Please join me in donating to the BPL for National Library Week to celebrate the invaluable role libraries play in our communities.
