Reg’s 3 Peaks Challenge – Supporting deafPLUS

Being the CEO of deafPLUS, I’ve seen first-hand how our services change lives. Every day, we support deaf people facing huge challenges—from isolation and financial hardship to navigating a world that often isn’t accessible to them. Our Advice Services are a lifeline, particularly now, as financial abuse in the deaf community is on the rise.

That’s why I’m taking on the Three Peaks Challenge—climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike, and Snowdon in just 24 hours! It’s a tough challenge, but nothing compared to the barriers deaf people face daily.

Why deafPLUS?

There are 800,000 severely and profoundly deaf people in the UK, and 87,000 use British Sign Language (BSL). Many experience language barriers, financial exclusion, and a lack of accessible services. deafPLUS tackles these issues by:

✔ Providing expert advice on benefits, housing, debt, and employment—led by deaf advisors who understand deaf people's experiences.

✔ Running workshops in BSL to educate and empower deaf individuals.

✔ Creating safe community spaces to reduce isolation and build connections.
