Story

A freak accident is just that !

Sometimes it’s hard to get your head around. The anger of “Why me?” kicks in, the frustration of “When will my recovery journey actually end?”, the question of “Do I actually have the strength to get through this?” … But then I remind myself that I am ever grateful to actually be here today and in time this moment will become a memory etched in our minds...

For both Sanjay and myself to have ended up at Stoke Mandeville Hospital Burns Unit was a god send 🙏🏼

I have now been here for over 6 weeks, I am astounded by the level of care from all the staff, carers, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, dieticians and phsycologists … what a unit this is!!

The knowledge, professionalism, resources and determination of all the staff is exemplary.

My journey is not as yet done but I have such a strong pull and need to want to give back to the unit, to raise some funds for new equipment or resources, what ever their needs may be.

Whilst in hospital both Sanj and I have celebrated our 28th Wedding Anniversary, which could only be celebrated because I am actually here. And now for my upcoming birthday I am due to have my final surgery on my leg.

We as a family - Swaran, Niki, Sanjay and myself would greatly appreciate any donations from £1 to however much can be donated, to add gift aid is an added extra for a great cause. Just to be able to help Stoke Mandeville Hospital Burns Unit and help other patients in their time of need as we had ours.

We are ever thankful and love you all for whatever you can donate xx
