Story
This is RedNews fanzine's seventh annual charity events for Manchester Mind.
I would walk... 500,000 steps!
Thanks to all who have supported previously, and can this year.
Each Christmas period we raise money for this vitalt charity - it's more important than ever that we all take care of ourselves, and our minds. If you are able to talk, please do, you can contact Manchester Mind direct - or please see us when we sell for a little chat. Just take care of yourselves Reds, please.
We will be selling in Santa hats for our game against Bournemouth on December 9th for a little bit of run to raise awareness for our appeal.
but also - we've raised the ante once again!
The Editor usually walks one distance on one day, last year that topped 32km in a day. That's about as high as I can do so I've decided, even with a dodgy knee!, to expand it across the month and try and aim for 500,000 steps, which is close to 400km across the month. It will be a slow start but then hope to build as the month goes on - and of course keep you updated with progress!
Other sellers and from the podcast will add their own challenges and we will update below.
Shane from the podcast will cycle 60k+, whatever the weather!
John seller will put in 24 hours of exercise over the course of 24 days before Christmas Day.
Thank you all Reds for your kindness and please do stop for a chat each game!
Manchester Mind is an independent, local charity, which supports over 7,000 children, young people and adults each year. We believe that everyone deserves to be supported in their mental health needs and we have a part to play in that. Our charity values the commitment of our staff and volunteers, who work hard to ensure services are delivered in a way that enables people to feel heard and involved. Donations and help from our fantastic supporters make a real difference, so thank you for being part of our success this year.
